Let me preface this by saying as a pacificist mostly, I’m not condoning any harassment, intimidation or violence of any kind. But we’re going to have to start pushing back and stop turning the other cheek against Conservative Christians. It’s less than three weeks until the 2022 General Election and the Republican Party is inContinue reading “Why It’s Time To Stop Turning The Other Cheek”

‘V/H/S’ Belongs In 99 Cent Bin
The V/H/S franchise was one that came and went so fast in the first half of the 2010s, you’d have to be a extreme horror fan to recognize. It could be that it was overshadowed by the Paranormal Activity movies which used th same found footage format that was growing very tired and overused byContinue reading “‘V/H/S’ Belongs In 99 Cent Bin”
Greed And Consumerism Haunt ‘Poltergeist’
When I was in college, a professor brought it up on how we have designed our bedrooms, living rooms and dens around the TV. In the olden days, someone could turn on a radio and hear it all around the house. TVs have to be seen. That’s part of their word, “vision.” One year, IContinue reading “Greed And Consumerism Haunt ‘Poltergeist’”
Hey, You Hosers, ‘Strange Brew’ Is A Beauty, Eh?
Before there was Wayne and Garth of Wayne’s World, there was Doug and Bob McKenzie. The comedic duo were the work of Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis and became popular on SCTV. They were just two brothers from The Great White North, i.e. Canada, who loved beer, back bacon and doughnuts. They were parodies ofContinue reading “Hey, You Hosers, ‘Strange Brew’ Is A Beauty, Eh?”
Is There A Billy Bob Thornton Curse?
Like most people, I don’t really believe in so called curses or conspiracy theories. Part of the reason is that if you dig a little deeper, you’d find more things that have been abandoned to fit the narrative. I once read about a columnist who said that if a reporter/journalist ever feels to make oneContinue reading “Is There A Billy Bob Thornton Curse?”
Velma Comes Out In ‘Trick Or Treat Scooby-Doo!’
Velma Dinkley was supposed to be the ying to Daphne Blake’s yang. She was the book-smart, more logical one to Daphne’s All-American cheerleader preppy girl archetype. In many ways, people have said the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? modeled its characters after the characters from The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. You can see theContinue reading “Velma Comes Out In ‘Trick Or Treat Scooby-Doo!’”
How ‘Thriller’ Set The Standard For Music Videos
Before I begin this, let me do a preface similar to the Thriller video that I’m not a fan of Michael Jackson following the sexual abuse allegations. I also think John Landis should have taken more responsibility for his actions. Vic Morrow and two Vietnamese child actors lost their lives 40 years ago because LandisContinue reading “How ‘Thriller’ Set The Standard For Music Videos”
Herschel Walker: Stepin Fetchit Minstrel Act For GOP
Herschel Walker pulling out a sheriff’s badge at the Georgia Senatorial Debate on Oct. 14. It’s an honorary badge issued from the Johnson County, Ga. Sheriff’s Office. He got in trouble from the moderator who called it a prop, but for Walker, it didn’t register what she meant. Walker is not the smartest person inContinue reading “Herschel Walker: Stepin Fetchit Minstrel Act For GOP”
‘She-Hulk’ Smashes Through The MCU
Well, if you were an MCU fan, as well as a Halloween fan, this past week was either a good week or a bad week, depending on your opinions of both the latest Halloween movie and the season finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Both have seem to be review bombed from online critics, orContinue reading “‘She-Hulk’ Smashes Through The MCU”
‘Halloween Ends’ On A Different Path Than Most Would Suspect
This post may contain spoilers. Halloween Ends has opened this weekend bringing to an end yet another attempt to resurrect the franchise and milk it for a little bit. It’s the 13th movie in the franchise and the 12th to have Michael Myers involved. If you don’t know, Halloween III: Season of the Witch wasContinue reading “‘Halloween Ends’ On A Different Path Than Most Would Suspect”
