When I started this blog four years ago this month, I did it after listening to a lot of friends telling me to. I didn’t really take it as seriously. I would skip a day or two. Then, my girlfriend, Kerry, died of an illness in the winter of 2022 and the depression hit hard.Continue reading “Thanks Again For Reading”

Happy Birthday, U.S. Army! And Happy Flag Day! And No Kings!
Today is the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and that’s the only birthday that really counts today. (Ok, maybe someone out there reading this has a special day and I say, Happy Birthday to you!) But let’s not forget the reason we needed to form a national army in the first place. The AmericanContinue reading “Happy Birthday, U.S. Army! And Happy Flag Day! And No Kings!”
‘What Keeps You Alive’ Has A Plot That Is Dead On Arrival
I’ve often thought horror/thriller movies have the best poster art. At one time people used to use originality in all poster art. Look at The Exorcist, Jaws, Back to the Future, or Platoon to name a few. Now it’s just a collection of the big names who are in the cast with the position andContinue reading “‘What Keeps You Alive’ Has A Plot That Is Dead On Arrival”
Blue Whale Makes A Nice Roadside Attraction Along Route 66
The Blue Whale of Catoosa is located along Route 66 east of Catoosa, Okla., a suburb of Tulsa. Built in the early 1970s by local resident Hugh Davis as a gift to his wife, Zelda, who was a fan of whale figurines. Originally just intended for family use, the Davis family welcomed the visitors toContinue reading “Blue Whale Makes A Nice Roadside Attraction Along Route 66”
‘House Of My Mother’ A Memoir Of Abuse And Horrors
According to Judd Apatow, one of the reasons his show Freaks and Geeks failed is because NBC refused to allow a website to be created. It was 30 years ago when I first saw a http link used in an advertisement for the digitally remastered VHS boxed set of the Star Wars trilogy. The InternetContinue reading “‘House Of My Mother’ A Memoir Of Abuse And Horrors”
Strawberry Moon Tonight
If you have clear skies tonight, you might want to go out and see the “Strawberry Moon.” The Moon will appear full for three nights and it will be the lowest to Earth for some time. The next time this will happen will be 2043. So, it’s best to take a few moments later tonightContinue reading “Strawberry Moon Tonight”
Thank You, Sly, For Being Yourself
One thing I always loved about Sly and The Family Stone is their music always seemed to have a beat and tone to them that you made you want to sing along and dance to it. AllMusic famously stated, “James Brown may have created funk, but Sly Stone perfected it.” On June 9, Stone, bornContinue reading “Thank You, Sly, For Being Yourself”
This Is What People Want
The greatest myth of the American ideology is that even though “All men are created equal,” no one is willing to share their toys with other people. We’ve always wanted inequality. Yes, people, well…men, might be created equal in theory, but after we’re born we’re on our own. Currently the National Guard was at aContinue reading “This Is What People Want”
Possible Derecho This Day
A potential derecho is forecast to strike parts of Texas, Oklahoma and even into the Gulf Coast states. A derecho is a a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms known as a mesoscale convective system. It can be dangerous and destructive. Hopefully everyone is taking the precautions today. Be safe andContinue reading “Possible Derecho This Day”
Please Help If You Can
Since it’s Pride Month, I’m asking you to please donate or share the link to this organization. https://donorbox.org/oklahoma-outreach-program It seems more and more each day our elected officials are discriminating against the LGBTQIA community only to get more votes and donation dollars. At the same time, people are being discriminated with. A family friend wasContinue reading “Please Help If You Can”
