It’s July 14. While that day may not have much significance in American history, it was the day the French said no more.
During the early days of the French Revolution, the people proved they can be a strong force and stormed the Bastille, an armoury, prison and fortress. The take over of the facility was seen as a crucial blow to the political authority of France and a flashpoint in the French Revolution.
I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career.
