Graham Leaves Horrible, Questionable Legacy In Congress

First off, let me say “Go fuck yourself!” to all the people saying we shouldn’t be celebrating the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The President of the United States (and I hate writing that when I do) cheered the deaths of Robert Mueller and the murder of Rob Reiner. His administration called Renee Good a domestic terrorist even though there was no evidence. And I’m sure people cheered when the ICE agent screamed “Fucking bitch!” after ending her life with impunity. Alex Pretti has also been falsely accused by the U.S. government of questionable character.

During the eight years in office, President Barack Obama was subjected to tasteless rumors and social media posts from people hoping he died. When Osama bin Laden was taken out, people joked it should’ve been Obama or acted like the autocorrect types Obama when it should’ve been Osama.

When Paul Pelosi, husband of Nancy Pelosi, longtime Congress member, was assaulted in his own home, the right went after him saying it was part of a lover’s quarrel. The President has called Democrats the enemy of the state and called people of color criminals and rapists. I can go on but it would take too long and I don’t want to spend too much time on it.

Bottom line, it seems ever since Rush Limbaugh and the escalation of talk radio and now podcasts, conservatives say so many awful things about others, including the children killed at Sandy Hook weren’t real. Yet when the door swings the other way, they act like we’re the savages.

But can anyone name one good thing Graham did? Even when he put his foot down following the Jan. 6 insurrection coup attempt, he quickly backtracked when confronted by people who actually felt violence was needed to overthrow the 2020 election results.

Let me repeat that. People went to the nation’s Capitol with the intention to kidnap and kill elected officials including Mike Pence. But when things didn’t go their way, the spin was it was a peaceful protest while police were assaulted by leftists pretending to be right-wing militants.

And when Graham and Mitch McConnell among others had the chance to do the right thing on the second impeachment, they determined their careers were more important.

So here we are.

Graham died over the weekend of cardiac problems. He was 71 and still running for re-election. If you can’t see a problem, then you are part of the problem.

Whether or not Graham was a closeted gay man only makes his legacy more horrible if it’s true. He spent year wanting to discriminate against the LGBTQIA community. Some people have thought you know who bribed him into support after Graham spent the 2016 election blasting him. Graham was never married nor had children but the gay rumors were there based on his behavior. If he was gay, he obviously didn’t care about the privacy of other people as he wanted the government to have more say over what they can and can’t do.

I think it’s like black conservatives who hate their own people. I kind of wonder what is going to come out now he is gone.

I also think a lot of people are thankful he’s gone even though they’re blasting others. But since we are a social media society, our opinions in real life are different than online. And that’s probably why they support Graham and the Republicans.

They get all the credit and none of the blame.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
