I Believe You Have My Stapler

I don’t need to staple many papers a lot lately as the world is becoming more and more paperless. But I couldn’t resist buying a Swingline stapler in Royal Red or Rio Red color.

This became popular following the 1999 movie Office Space. Yet Swingline never used this color prior to this movie. It’s a cherished office supply item of Milton Waddams (Stephen Root), a squirrely middlea-aged man who mutters a lot to himself and has huge Coke bottle like glasses.

While the movie never made a huge amount of money, it got good reviews and became popular on the home video and cable TV markets. And then Swingline put the red staplers on the market in 2002.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
