Happy Birthday, Mel Brooks!

Mel Brooks, one of the kings of comedy turns 99 today, June 28. And it’s good to be the king!

Recently, there was news that a sequel to Spaceballs is in the works as well as a series based on Young Frankenstein. I wasn’t a big fan of History of the World Part II, but it had a few good moments. Spaceballs 2 may work.

And Rick Moranis is coming out of retirement after decades so that’s something to celebrate in of itself!

Hopefully, the Young Frankenstein series will be better than the horrible Black Bart pilot with the late Lou Gossett Jr.

What’s your favorite movie of Mel’s? Blazing Saddles? Spaceballs? The Producers?

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
