The 2026 World Series began on Friday night as the Milwaukee Brewers won the first game 3-2 over the Tampa Bay Rays.
This is the first time the Brewers have played in the World Series since 1982 where they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals. This was back when the idea of Major League Baseball team anywhere in Florida was a work of fiction. The Rays played the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series in 2020 but the Dodgers won 4-2. Their first appearance was in 2008, a decade after they played their first game ever. Yet they didn’t do any better getting defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 overall.
I, myself, am rooting for Milwaukee. But whoever wins will be taking their first World Series trophy with them off the field.
Who are you rooting for? Please comment.
