The good news about the current President unable to run for a third term is after Andrew Scaramucci and Katie Zacharia, the next term will have an employee hired and fired by lunch break.
Scaramucci last two weeks about. Zacharia was hired and fired within a normal work week. It’s not uncommon for someone to look good on paper and then be unable to do the job duties well. And being press secretary for the White House isn’t an easy job. You have to deal with stress, criticism for everyone (press/media, elected officials and government officials and the general public). It’s no surprise many press secretaries never last the full four years of a term.
Rod Ziegler was press secretary throughout Richard Nixon’s entire administration and it wasn’t easy. Ziegler was often berated by Nixon and other higher-ups in public that speculation grew that be was in fact Deep Throat, the secret governmental official that helped Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein during the Watergate scandal. However in 2005, we discovered it was W. Mark Felt who was deputy director of the FBI.
Zacharia’s first press conference was bad. While we all can get nervous, her behavior seemed to show she was unqualified almost from the start. I think she was hired because she’s a blonde woman and that’s it. I don’t blame Karoline Leavitt for leaving before the General Elections. Yoi don’t need that headache.
But this comes as Kimberly Guilfoyle was let go as ambassador to Greece. She used to be the partner of the President’s oldest son which seems like the appointment was something to keep her satisfied after their relationship . Yet so far, it seems to show just how incompetent this administration is.
Early voting has already started in some states and Election Day is less than 20 days. Instead of running the country, both the President and Vice-President are going around the country holding rallies which rarely pull in big numbers and protestors are violently assaulted. We weren’t better off now than we were two years ago.
No one likes to be fired. I’ve been terminated for stupid reasons. In the winter of 2006, I took a job at the Wal-Mart produce department in Muskogee, Okla. Then I got the flu after a week and a half. I remember waking up one night shaking because I had the fever chills even though the furnace was on. I was terminated because I couldn’t report to work even though I would be handling food. I still lasted longer than Zacharia.
But sometimes it’s beneficial to be fired. Zacharia doesn’t have to be around the President and the White House during the election and the aftermath.
