Earlier this week, a broadcast of the San Francisco Giants/Minnesota Twins game went viral as a woman was called a “multitasking mom” as she was returning to the seats. She had her child in a baby carrier across her chest/abdominal area. She had a backpack on. She was also carrying three trays of food.
She sat down next to her husband/partner who didn’t do anything to help her. He did grab a food tray for himself and began eating. Giants announcers Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow commented on him in a condescending way. And the video went viral with many people (mostly women) commenting on it.
Most of the comments are women who have experienced this same type of behavior calling her a “married single mom.” It’s 2026 and if you’re not willing to step up and do your parental and marital duties for your wife and kids, you don’t need deserve either.
Now I know defenders will say things like we don’t know their story. But this behavior is typical. I saw a video earlier this year or last year of a family at a park with a dog that was not on a leash. He went to drop a deuce. The man is too busy on his phone. The mom has a baby in one hand pushing a stroller in another. She stops walking to go pick it up.
Now a lot of superdads will talk about how great they are. But people who have to brag about themselves really just want credit for doing things they are supposed to do. Marriage is never 50/50. Some days you give more. Some days your partner gives more. Regardless, it’s what you sign up for.
I’ve been in a relationship where I had to do more because my partner at the time was having serious health issues. Yes, it can be frustrating and draining but you do it. Some days you have great days and some days you don’t.
And people wonder why women are single.
