Conor McGregor attempted a comeback in the UFC arena over the weekend only to last one minute and nine seconds. He suffered a reported knee injury leading for the officials to call the match and proclaim Max Holloway the winner.
Now McGregor has been under a lot of scrutiny lately following a civil case filed against him by Nikita Hand. (THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS DETAILS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT.) Hand claimed McGregor raped her in 2018. Reports indicate that Hand suffered initial damages so grim and disturbing I’m not going to mention them. The Irish courts rules McGregor was liable and despite his appeals, the judgment remains.
However McGregor has tried to rebuild his image but he has learned the court of public opinion can issue a life sentence. His appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was heavily criticized. And his Polymarket commercial now seems like it almost jinxed him.
Now they might say he lost on a technicality but call it karma or poetic justice, it might be the warning sign that he’s need to retire and go back to a more private life. Most sexual predators aren’t first timers. It’s only the first time they got caught.
It’s not a comeback but more of a sign that people don’t want him back.
