Ten years ago on the The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, they discussed that the reason Donald Trump is getting so much attention is because people keep talking about him. This was back when he was one of many candidates (Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush among them) and considered the dark horse candidate.
Granted, we should’ve have never gotten this far. I don’t even think Trump wanted to come this far. His whole thing was to make money off of this. It seems not a few hours pass where this guy does something or says something outrageous. It’s only Wednesday, May 7 as of this post. And in that time here is what Trump has said or done on his social media in this month alone so far:
- Talked about reopening Alcatraz more than 60 years after it was mostly condemned for America’s most dangerous criminals
- Kept suggesting that America take Canada in as the 51st state while talking with its Prime Minister Mark Carney
- Wants to put 100 percent tariffs on foreign films
- Shared an AI photo of himself as the new Pope right after attending Pope Francis’ funeral
- Shared an AI photo of himself as a muscular buff Sith for May the 4th be With You thinking he was a Jedi
- Signed an executive order to defund NPR and PBS, even though that takes an act of Congress.
- Says “I don’t know” when asked if his duties are to uphold the U.S. Constitution
Those are just the ones I thought up off the top of my head without double-checking further because quite frankly, I’m sick of this asshole. In his first 100 days, he has done 100 things that would’ve gotten just about every other employee (private or governmental) fired or terminated. And yes, he is a federal employee. I know he likes to think of himself as a ruler or a king. But Trump is really just another governmental bureaucrat.
The sad fact is Trump loves to think of himself as more than what he is. All he really ever was and will be is a real estate hustler, a glorified landlord who did the bare minimum as possible to avoid fines and fees. I don’t even think he’d even paint over something because the paint and labor would be too much. And he’d be the type who would charge tenants more for roach and rat infestations.
If Reality TV never took off in the 2000s, as it really shouldn’t have, he’d never be as popular. The only TV he would have been appearing on is that McDonald’s Big and Tasty commercial with Grimace. Say what you will about Chuck Barris, but people on The Gong Show never really tried to make themselves big-time celebrities. The Apprentice, just like Survivor and Big Brother, wasn’t just a criticism of TV but our society in the 21st Century.
At least when Robert Ford tried to go around milking his status re-enacting the time he shot Jesse James in the back, people resisted almost immediately.
I’ll never understand why people are so fascinated with Trump. But I just discovered in my mid-40s that some people don’t have an inner monologue, which I think explains a lot. The thing is Trump just wants attention and as I’m writing this he said Americans will know call the Persian Gulf the “Arabian Gulf.” It’s called the Persian Gulf because it’s on the gulf of Persia.
The only reason he wants us to call it the Arabian Gulf is because he wants to kiss ass with the country of Saudi Arabia. He’s obviously got some interests with the Saudis and this is his way of currying favor. There’s some deal that’s going to go through or this is where he’ll run to when people get too tired of him. Thankfully, he said he won’t seek a third term.
But he’s already been selling hats that real “TRUMP 2028” as it’s anything to make money off his followers. If he sold empty jars claiming they contained his farts, people would buy them. This is a weird obsession people have with him and it’s downright disturbing. Luckily, J.D. Vance has screwed the pooch so much later casinos should hire him to walk around the game rooms so people will lose money.
So, basically anything Trump gets is good for him even if it’s bad. That’s why I haven’t been posting a lot on social media about him. And that’s why I’m not going to make anymore posts about him unless it’s something very, very serious. I have better things to do. And like most of my friends and fellow Non-Trump supporters, we’re feeling apathy of all the bad things his supporters are enduring.
It’s no surprise they’re the same people who throw their kids into the deep end of the pool so they can learn to swim and don’t pull back their hands with they see an open flame because they need to learn not to try to touch it. That’s why I can’t understand why the news organizations are giving these people any credit except to just show their hypocrisy. They voted for Trump because they wanted others to suffer. Now, they’re getting what they deserve.
Rush Limbaugh died over four years ago. And Andrew Breitbart died back in 2012. No one ever talks about them because there’s no point. They were angry white men who fed the world this myth they were being oppressed by an unfair system. But it was only “unfair” to them. And when Trump is no longer on this planet (not to say I’m going to do anything), but when he is gone, he’ll be another Franklin Pierce, Herbert Hoover or Calvin Coolidge.
He’ll be forgotten and students will wonder what the hell were we thinking? And hopefully we’re able to tell them, people were afraid to have a woman as a President while they’re have been many women as President.
