There are several things certain in sports. At a baseball game the nearest kid always gets the homerun or foul ball. In the mid-1980s, my family went to an Atlanta Braves game. We had seats on or near the front row near first base. A foul play was hit line drive toward us. And this guy who we never had met nor seen ever again nearly toppled over to get it. He dusted it off when he stood back up and handed it to my brother who was closest to him and walked away.
And no matter how introverted you are at a ball game, you will do The Wave and you will at least say “Charge!” in any elevated volume voice when hearing the music.
Also, people only watch auto racing for the crashes and hockey for the fighting. Just admit it.
Finally, no one can stand to listen to Joe Buck and we all wonder why he continues to deliver commentary.
Oh, and when you take a team photo, the players take the center. It’s not even debatable. You can align them anyway but they are always center view and the coaches are either behind them or off to the sides.
That’s why the recent photo of Trump with the University of Georgia’s women’s tennis championship team is causing such an uproar. No editor on this planet would approve a photo like this. And no parent (regardless of how MAGA they are) would be satisfied with the blatant disrespect.
It’s pretty obvious now Trump doesn’t see women as anything more than sex objects. With his approval ratings at an all-time low, three people from his cabinet have been let go within the last couple months. First it eas Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security. Then it was Pam Bondi as Attorney General and now it’s Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Labor Secretary. At the same time, Kash Patel, FBI Director, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and RFK Jr. continue to make mistakes and foul ups that are nothing but negative.
Earlier this year, Trump joked about having to invite the Women’s Olympic hockey team who won gold as if he didn’t want to.
One would argue this photo was done as punishment for the low turnout at UGA on April 14 when J.D. Vance spoke to a very empty crowd. But I think it just shows you that he has to be front and center at everything. He sees himself as the only one of any importance. Remember when he shoved other world leaders out of the way during his first term? That is why he falls asleep during important meetings.
He expects to be treated as a king as people present him with gifts and awards that are totally meaningless. Maybe he’s mad because they didn’t bring him any gifts.
Now people are starting to turn against him but it’s a little late for that. I also think the people who are admitting they were wrong are just trying to save their brand and cover their own asses.
You now whoever took this photo was instructed to make him the main focus. This is like a spoiled toddler expecting to take the birthday kid’s gifts. Or to make MAGA people understand it, it’s a profile pic of someone holding a fish but the fish is cropped out.
Yes, you voted for this if you voted for him. And he no longer needs your vote. He’s going to do nothing to help you that doesn’t help him first.
