I was recently watching Outbreak. I think I had seen it once or twice between now and early March 2020. But it seemed like a strange coincidence the movie premiered on March 10, 1995. And I didn’t think it would actually turn into a fucking documentary.
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared it a pandemic. Word was spreading in late January that Covid-19 was going to be a bigger problem than most people thought. And then it just spread throughout the month of February as our President at the time who is also the President again basically felt like excluding people from the country was a good idea.
I had flown to Georgia and spent a week before returning back. The Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport is one of the most busiest airports in the world. If only one person had Covid-19 but thought it was just a cold or flu and was still traveling, then a lot of other people would get it.
It sems like March 11-12 was kind of the beginning of the end for a while. No one had really dealt with a pandemic during this time so what was going to happen next. Needless to say, all the people in power did everything wrong. It became more understanding why Murray Hamilton as the mayor Jaws was willing to let the deaths of three people in a week not interfere with the July 4 holiday weekend.
And of course with life imitating art, we decided to keep the same leader in power despite one epic fuck-up. As a part of fact, a fuck-up is an accident that people foolishly don’t avoid causing. Over a million people in this country have died. Others have lasting conditions like my dad who has severe breathing problems or my friend, Kat, who already had health issues.
There’s a belief that the White House was going to endorse shelter-in-place and mask wearing. But they received reports that black people were expected to be affected the worse by it and die. So, considering we have one of the biggest racists to be in office since “that sumbitch Reagan,” he really had no intention of saving their lives. Remember even after they were exonerated, he tried to say the Central Park Five still deserved the death penalty.
No, it seems we’re heading to another war to get the attention away from the Epstein Scandal especialyl since conservatives are beginning to turn against the Fearless Leader.
But, hey, you just couldn’t handle Kamala Harris’ laugh. Be sure to tell that to your kids and grandkids when the military draft is reinstated.
