No Surprise As Islamic Center In Tusa Suburb Is Denied Amongs Opposition

Have to say, I’m not surprised a proposed Islamic center in the Tulsa suburb of Broken Arrow was denied. Officials on the BA City Council said it was an issue over traffic and the proposal just didn’t meet the standards.

There’s about two billion people around the world who practice Islam. That’s about a quarter of the world’s population. If they wanted to control the world, they’d probably be able to do it.

But just like the rest of the world’s population who have some logical and rational thinking, all they want to do is just get by one day at a time. They want to hang out with their friends, raise their families and just enjoy the best things that life can bring them.

Part of me thinks Broken Arrow officials made their choice because they were afraid of what the public would do. People have bombed Christian and Jewish places of worship. What makes you think they won’t blink an eye over destroying an Islamic place especially if they’re people there.

And those building the center, it could be harmed, as well. Imagine some young worker trying to make some money and they’re targeted. Islamic, Christian or atheist, they’ve been targeted by terrorists – real domestic terrorists. That’s because Christian Nationalism is serious problem in this country.

Sadly, it was a no-win situation. People voiced their opposition en masse and what is the Council to do by ignoring the voice of its people. I don’t agree with the decision but sometimes you have to vote the way the people you represent want, even if you don’t agree wth it.

And it’s a shame that in 2026, we’re more backwards now than we were decades ago.

Once again, the stubborn, arrogant, ignorant and gullible win. And the rest of us lose another one.

What do you think? Please comment.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted.
