Now, that we’re a full week into 2026 and Christmas 2025 is in the history books, do you still have your decorations up?
Some people I know take theirs down around New Year’s. But I’ve even known people who take them down on Dec. 26. I went to work one Dec. 26 years ago and the rest of the staff were already taking the tree and decorations down. It was a tree I had brought in, so I felt like I should’ve had final say.
I still have mine up. I haven’t felt well the last 48 hours and spent most of Tuesday in bed and still trying to regain my strength. As I’ve noted before Jan. 6 is the Day of the Epiphany and this the Twelfth Day of Christmas so you should at least keep it up until then.
The picture above is one my dad set me of the Butts County Courthouse in Jackson, Ga., about a mile from their house. You may recognize it from the popular show Stranger Things.
Please comment on when you take the decorations down.
