I had high hopes of attending the local No Kings protest. But Mother Nature had other ideas as a thunderstorm came through at around the same time of the planned protest beginning at 10 a.m. CMT.
I also wasn’t feeling well but I was happy to see several people out protesting in my hometown of Calhoun, Ga., my college town of Statesboro, Ga. and especially Washington, D.C. where some of my former college media friends were in attendance for another event to honor our late friend Kelley Lash. (But that’s for another post.)
Sadly, the man who wants to be a king and more likely a dictator posted a disrespectful AI video of himself flying a jet over protestors dropping fecal matter. It just shows you how under the skin we get this man. I still have no respect for former President George W. Bush but he once made a joke about his distractors and protestors saying he was glad to see people using all their fingers as they greeted him.
You got to admit, the man probably got a lot of obscene gestures and even got a shoe thrown at him. But he never acted as pompous as this fucking guy.
It’s reported there were over 7 million people protesting everywhere including D.C. (where it was recorded at over 200,000 more than both of his inaugurations combined). Other major cities included Atlanta, Boston (which is one of the few times I’m proud of Bostonians), Chicago, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma City. Even red states like Idaho had record turnout numbers.
I’m pretty sure an arrangement to build a miitary base for a foreign country Qatar has many Idahoans upset. The fact of the matter is people are realizing that the current President doesn’t need your votes anymore. The government is still shut down and this is the fourth time it’s happened under his watch.
I also like to correct Speaker Mike Johnson and say these protests weren’t because people hate America. It’s because they love the country and hate seeing what it’s becoming. The only people reportedly arrested were violent aggressors from the other side. If you have a problem, you work to fix the problem not the blame to paraphrase an old saying.
If you’re driving down the road and you get a flat tire. You pull off and change it with the spare. If the spare doesn’t work, you call a wrecker, the auto club or the insurance if they have a service. Or you call a friend or family member to hep you. There are so many options to get you back on the road. You don’t keep driving because it can be a big risk to everyone in your path.
