Not to say that Mike Gundy didn’t have a great ride as the head coach of Oklahoma State University’s Cowboys football team, but he kinda became a joke after the Sept. 22, 2007 close win over Texas Tech. That was the day when he screamed as loud as he could, “I’m a man! I’m 40!”
And he instantly became a meme. Justin Bieber downloaded this and used it as his ring tone. It became a joke, but it showed that Gundy was nothing but a hot head. He also proved in true Oklahoma fashion to be MAGA by wearing an OAN (One America Network) shirt during a publicity shoot. The news station is notorious for its false reporting of fakes and loyalty to the current Presidency.
But there’s something worse than shooting your mouth off at women reporters, exposing your sexist misogyny. Gundy allowed OSU to lose to the University of Tulsa, a college that may have a great law school and a guarantee of a sweet job if you get any degree, but its mascot is a hurricane. Mind you, there has never been a record of a hurricane hitting the city of Tulsa as the nearest shoreline in the Gulf of Mexico is 500 miles away.
Yes, they lost to Tulsa at T. Boone Pickens Stadium. Gundy should be glad Pickens is no longer alive or else the man would’ve had him tarred and feathered. I’m just joking. But it sounds like something Pickens would consider only to hear he would face criticism from The Daily Oklahoman. Yes, Tulsa defeated them 19-12. The 49-45 win over Texas Tech was closer.
This was an insult of epic proportions.
So, 18 years and one day to the date that Gundy made an ass of himself on TV, OSU said don’t let the door hit your mullet on the way out. Yes, he had a mullet. It makes the OAN shirt look more fashionable in comparison.
However, I doubt many OSU fans will pull a Spartacus moment of “I’m a man! I’m 40!” as most will be glad to see him go.
