OksWagen Held In Tahlequah

The VolksWagen automobile has been around since the late 1930s. The popularity has been associated with the Herbie the Love Bug movies, as well as the hippie counterculture movement (even though they weren’t too eco-friendly) and even as a popular game for long road trips.

Who hasn’t played Punch Buggy on a road trip? Of course, I don’t condone violence and it should be handled with light taps on the shoulder.

To coincide with the Oktoberfest celebration in Tahlequah, OksWagen was held in the downtown area on Saturday, Oct. 5 with dozens of vintage VolksWagen vehicles on lining both sides of North Muskogee Avenue.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
