If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. In Kevin McCarthy’s case, that would be 15 times. It’s amazing that this vote for the next Speaker of the House went 15 times. For a while, Democrats were holding out the possibility that a few Republicans would go across party lines and elect Hakeem Jeffries. Even though the Republican Party holds a very slim margin in the House of Representatives, there is no regulation the Speaker has to be the one who belongs to the party with the majority. They don’t even have to be a member of Congress.
That’s why some people floated the idea of voting for Donald Trump. But that was quickly quashed. Just as a dick move, some Republicans voted for Kevin Hern (R-Oklahoma). Why Kevin Hern? Easy, just to fuck with Kevin McCarthy. That’s how non-serious and unprofessional some people in Congress took this vote. It’s the third in line to President. Hern is starting his third term in Congress. He’s a Tulsa area businessman. If you watch any of his campaign videos, he’s one of these guys who has that “We expect hard work” mentalities a lot of Boomers and conservatives like him love to taught.
Yes, you immediately want to punch him in the dick. But you don’t want to punch him in the dick as much as the other people in Congress. Hern would be the Tip O’Neill compared to the rest of Congress. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) got sick of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) grandstanding and was going to fight him. Well, some times Republicans aren’t too bad. But the video as well as a war of words between Gaetz and McCarthy show the Republican Party is falling apart more and more.
For the first time in about 100 years, a Speaker wasn’t elected on the first vote. But for the 15th fucking vote? You really wished some Republicans would’ve just elected Jeffries but they enjoyed fucking with McCarthy more. It’s a shame because what we have now is a political party that is fighting amongst itself. Remember the time Liam Gallagher of Oasis heckled his brother, Noah, and the bandmembers during a MTV unplugged show back in 1996. That’s the Republican Party now.
Less that one year ago, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) looked like they were BFFs as they heckled President Joe Biden like two drunken sports moms bad at the coach they’re babies are playing. Now, they’re fighting against one another like two trailer trash shank hos fighting on an episode of Jerry Springer. MTG has been at work with the Freedom Caucus which is what became of the Tea Party when their racism and bigotry was exposed after their tactics didn’t keep Barack Obama from being re-elected in 2012.
Gaetz, who is one of many Congressmembers who shouldn’t be in office for a number of reasons, has become Boebert’s new BFF and partner-in-crime. It almost had a high school vibe to it with the except of McCarthy not wearing a letterman jacket and Boebert beeing more than 20 years older than the type of women he prefers. There’s no loyalty among thieves and scum. Republicans don’t know how to govern anymore. They just know how to stay in office. Now that Trump is no longer the person to know as it once was, the party is scrambling to find out what to do next.
Their first week as a Congress and they achieved mostly nothing and I feel it will be a sign of the rest of the year and next year. I’m almost certain they’ll try to impeach Biden before the State of Union address. Yes, Republicans do have a marjority, but the Democrats control the Senate and they have the White House. This is like having to share a house with some people you don’t like but you have your own private bathroom. It’s not much of a win. This is a basement or a garage that has been repaired into living quarters. Eventually, you’re going to have to deal with the other people in the house and those will be some tense moments if you act a certain way.
This also comes two years after the Jan. 6 insurrection coup attempt in which some people of Congress, including McCarthy, Gaetz, MTG, Boebert and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), are suspected of having a connection to. We have members of Congress who believe in the Big Lie that the election was stolen. Even after they nearly found themselves cowering down like Markwayne Mullin, who used to be a Congressmember but is now a Senator from Oklahoma, they still didn’t vote to certifiy the ballots at first.
While some people are saying Attorney General Merrick Garland is making sure he has everything order, it’s time to shit or get off the pot as I’ve said earlier. Indict now or just give up. Trump shouldn’t be allowed to run for office again. By holding him accountable, this will put the screws on others in Congress and those connected to the events on Jan. 6, 2021.
My only hope is that as more and more Boomers pass away and the ones who have traditionally voted Republican aren’t around or finally change their votes, voters 18-50 over the next few elections the rest of this decade will reshape not only Washington, D.C. but the entire country. Get rid of these agining politicians who have gotten the senior discount at Country Kitchen Buffet for longer than some voters have been alive.
All they want to do is too continue to stay in power by any means necessary even if means they got to play uglier.
