Helping Out For Disability Awareness

July is Disability Awareness Month and while it doesn’t get as much attention as other months, we can’t turn our backs on people with physical disabilities. I just found out this past week that Wheels of Happiness will be having their annual gala fund-raiser in Atlanta on Sept. 24.

My late girlfriend was on their Board of Directors. This is a non-profit that helps out people all over the world who need wheelchairs and other mobile assistance. She was serving as Board Secretary when she passed in February from an illness. We had talked about attending a real gala but never got the opportunity. In 2020 and 2021, they did virtual galas.

If you are looking to help out, check out their website at https://wheelsofhappiness.org. Or if you know people who can help, please share this website with them.

Thank you very much for reading this and support.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
