Well, there may not be any need to celebrate with world events but today is the first day of the Year of the Fire House on the Chinese New Year and it’s also Fat Tuesday, the great day of feasting as Ash Wednesday tomorrow begins Lent.

Also, I’d like to clear up a social media post about this month’s calendar. If you haven’t been paying attention, you’d know that as February only has 28 days, it’s considered a perfect month. With seven days a week, each week on the calendar has an equal amount as four each.
Despite what you read, this is not a occurence that happens once every 800 years, especially since we go by the Gregorian calendar which was approved by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582. The last time we had a perfect month was un 2015 and the next time is 2037.
