Opened in 1999, the Clear Creek Monastery is a Benedictine Abbey located in the Ozarks in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. The monastery also goes by Our Lady of the Annunciation of Clear Creek Abbey or just simply Clear Creek Abbey. It’s part of the Tulsa Diochese and reportedly houses about 60-70 monks from all over the world who are mostly self-contained with their own livestock and produce. However, it is not uncommon to occassionally see a few monks in the nearby municipalities of Tahlequah or Wagoner.
