The whole thing with the Minnesota Vikings including two men as cheerleaders makes how some people get through their daily lives without having strokes and heart attacks all the time. Presidents George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Franklin D. Roosevelt were all cheerleaders in their youth.
And I’ve seen some of the cheerleaders who have to hoist a woman weighing about 120 pounds in the air as if she was light as a feather. I know I can’t do that. Not even before I hurt my back in my 30s. Hell, these male cheerleaders as high schools and colleges are built like a brick shithouse and look stronger than football players. So, what’s the big issue here?
It’s obviously sexism and misogyny. It’s 2025 and this country in the last 10 years has witnessed two of the most qualified women Presidential candidates lose to the most unqualified Presidential candidate since Larry C. Flynt. As a matter of fact, Flynt was more qualified. But as Riley Gaines goes on her campaign as the latest conservative blonde pundit who has to prove her lost was rigged, it boggles my mind why people are making a big deal about it.
The entire sport of football would sound like a gay male orgy to someone who was unfamiliar with it. I mean, it involves 21 men who are wearing tights to try to tackle each other. Aside from tackle, their positions are tight end, wide receiving, running back and they’re all trying to get a ball from each other. It’s ironic it’s portrayed as a manly sport when it consists of men chasing after each other for about 100 yards.
It’s just like wrestling where two men literally get into a sexual like position and the goal is to pin the other one. And they’re wearing tights too. I had to take pictures for the newspaper where I’m sure I would’ve been investigated by police if the kids weren’t wearing tights. Profession baseball may be boring but it’s consists of men just standing around scratching themselves or sitting on a bench scratching themselves.
Cheerleading, like a lot of things, started out as an all-male collegiate activity until World War II in which many young men went to serve in the military and women began to get involved especially after more women began going to college. So, yes, people are actually objecting to something that was changed due to the rise of Affirmative Action.
Yet, they don’t want more men cheerleading in professional football. I can say that irony is no longer a thing in America especially when everything seems like something you’d read in The Onion. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama), whose only qualifications to be a U.S. Senator was that he was a football coach said it’s part of the “woke” agenda.
They have no idea what “woke” means. Don’t explain basic biology to them because we are all female until some embryos become boys. Did anyone learn that from Jurassic Park? I mean, it’s just two young men, Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn. It’s not like the entire cheerleading squad for the Vikings.
I’m just wondering if Shiek and Conn will be paid more than the women cheerleaders. On average some NFL cheerleaders only make $150 per game and only about $23,000 a year. That’s nothing in today’s market. And yes, it’s only one game a week but they have to practice and do other events.
Like a lot of things, such as the change in the Cracker Barrel logo, this is just conservatives making a big deal about something that’s trivial to draw attention away from how badly they’re doing. This along with the Sydney Sweeney blue jeans ad are things they’re blowing up to make those on the left look critical.
It’s all to draw attention away from using military troops in major cities to “cut down on crime,” redistrict maps so they can keep control of Congress and to allow Trump to do anything he wants. I mean, what would anyone say if any other President wore a ball cap reading he was right about everything?
There have been men who have been cheerleaders longer than the NFL was around. Rather than focus on this matter, they should focus on how players are developing CTE and other serious injuries before they’re 30 as the NFL is considered a non-profit organization and takes millions from those cities for new stadiums.
But like others have expressed about this story, if people are upset about this, it shows you what they really think of women.
It sure does.
