Once upon a time, my school would take trips to SpaceCamp in Huntsville, Ala. It was about 120 miles away from where I grew up so they’d usually do the trips on Saturdays or during Spring Break.
But they stopped doing it. I don’t know why. The faculty was kinda crazy at my alma matter over certain things. My guess is someone farted too loud or wore a ball cap in an area the faculty didn’t think they should.

So, I stopped by there on my recent trip and took a few photos. I wasn’t able to get in and look around. I was a little upset to notice that the space shuttle was not an actual one but a realistic model stature. Even from the parking lot, you can tell it’s not real. But it looks real from the nearby freeway which is how they probably get people to stop.

If you are a space exploration fanatic and haven’t been, I’d recommend you stop by. Or take your kids to get them interested.
