A potential derecho is forecast to strike parts of Texas, Oklahoma and even into the Gulf Coast states.
A derecho is a a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms known as a mesoscale convective system. It can be dangerous and destructive. Hopefully everyone is taking the precautions today.
