Fort Gibson Celebrates Old Fort Days

The Oklahoma town of Fort Gibson took advantage of the nice, sunny spring weather to have its Old Fort Days celebration with activities on Friday and Saturday.

Activities included concerts, food trucks, street dancing and demonstration of life in the 1800s when the town was found.

Town Administrator James Walters encouraged those in attendance to help get the word out and encourage more events.

I was unable to attend all the activities and only caught the Saturday evening events.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
