For the night owls out there as well as people who are fascinated by the night sky and astrology,
The “Blood Worm Moon” will be visible in the sky overnight beginning about 2:26 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, March 14. However, if you live on the West Coast, you hopefully will be able to see some of it before going to bed as it will begin about 11:26 p.m. tonight.
It’s expected to last just over an hour at 65 minutes when the sun, Earth and moon will align in a roughly straight line causing a lunar eclipse of syzygy. It’s called a “blood worm moon” because of the reddish hue of the glow and the time of year when it happens.
Reports indicate this is the first total lunar eclipse in three years.
Will you stay up to watch it or catch a video later? Please comment.
