Gods And Monsters/Vault 5421 A Great Tourist Stop In Orlando

On my recent trip to Orlando, I checked out a comic book store that wasn’t too far from my hotel. A friend had told me about it. We had planned on meeting there. Even though she was dealing with some health issues, I decided to go there myself.

It looks great but the biggest surprise was discovering a young man who works there named Mayson is actually good friends with one of my college friends from Georgia Southern University who owns and operates Infinite Realities in Tucker, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta. It’s mostly a comic-book store with toys and pop culture items to purchase. What are the odds that someone I know would tell me about a place where a worker is a friend of a friend?

I didn’t go to DisneyWorld but I got my own version of “It’s a Small World After All.” I purchased some Star Wars action figures and looked over the comics. They have a lot of what you’re looking for if you’re a big comic-book nerd.

Also, there is a secret small bar in the back called Vault 5421. If you’re a comic-book nerd, you’d like this place as it has a lot of pop culture memorabilia. But be careful when you’re sitting on the stools that don’t have the backs and I was wearing some new gym shorts that are a little sleek. I ended up falling off but thankfully I’m at the age where people rush to help me rather than pointing and laughing.

Both businesses are located at 5421 International Drive.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
