Happy Winter Solstice

I want to wish everyone a Happy Winter Solstice. The official Solstice occurred at the time of this posting at 3:20 a.m. Central Standard Time.

It is is the time when the Sun reaches its most northerly or southerly excursion relative to the celestial equator on the celestial sphere. For the Winter Solstice, this is the shortest time of daylight out of the year, which means our time of daylight gets longer each day from here on out until the Summer Solstice.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a great upcoming Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa if you celebrate either or all these.

Thanks again for reading and subscribing.

Do you celebrate the Solstice? Please comment.

I'm an award winning journalist and photographer who covered dozens of homicides and even interviewed President Jimmy Carter on multiple occasions. A back injury in 2011 and other family medical emergencies sidelined my journalism career. But now, I'm doing my own thing, focusing on movies (one of my favorite topics), current events and politics (another favorite topic) and just anything I feel needs to be posted. Thank you for reading.
